TASK
During and after my studies I worked on many projects, but I never had the opportunity to show my work to the public. A portfolio was the ideal solution to my problem. Finally, all enthusiasts interested in my work, can find and experience my skills at one place.

APPROACH
CONSULTATIONS

My goal was to create something that would portray me as a person. Me, playful, twisted, creative, with an eye for detail, accurately depicts the page you are just scrolling through. My favorite font and colors are just small details that make this page absolutely me.

REQUIREMENTS

The portfolio should describe my work process so that future clients know if I am the right support for their problem. In the future, the project section allows me to present my works, and for each of the projects I have the opportunity to write design cases. Visitors get to know me briefly and contact me very easily.

AUDIENCE

For the user research, I wrote emails to several HR in different branches. I asked them, to evaluate the time they would spend on my portfolio before they click away. The feedback was excellent, some HR were really surprised about the email itself. Furthermore, I started threads on various forums, like Reddit, and got feedback to almost all sections the portfolio contains.

WORKFLOW

Starting to sketch, wire and mock creates a rough prototype how the end results could look like. I work with AdobeXD, so sharing my work with the client is made as easy as it gets. Getting constant feedback even from other sources, helps to lift projects to a higher level. The entire website is made with pure HTML, CSS, Javascript, and some libraries. During the coding process I tested the website with real end-users, so I make sure the website provide a satisfied user experience.

SKETCHES

To consider the problem from different angles I tend to start with low quality sketches and refine them overtime. Sketches help me to generate multiple solutions, give the customer a first glance of the design process and even to get some more feedback from the end-user.

WIREFRAMES

Regardless where the end-user is on the website, accessing the projects section should be only one click away. Wireframes help to create a unique flow, navigating the end-user to his/her goal in just a few clicks. Call-To-Action buttons are a great way to force the user exactly where you want him to go.

MOCKUPS

I always tend to mock up my projects to do some changes before I start to code. Some ideas get flushed, but better ones arise.

FEEDBACK

The feedback was mainly about the speed of the animations. Numerous users wished a faster animation speed and page transitions. They were impressed with the large fonts, colors and smooth navigation. Some of them event suggested a classic contact form, but I tended to stick with my version of it.
