8 WAYS TO GET MORE CLIENTS AS AN FRONT-END / UX DEV

Focus on your best skill, and try to present it to customers in a satisfied way. Customers often search for specific experts in a field, and offering more than one ability, sometimes can work against you. Here are 10 tips on how to get better jobs as a Front-End / UX developer.

1. Position yourself as an expert

It is not enough just to present the previous projects in your portfolio. You have to show that you are an expert. There are different ways to do this: You can share internal processes, write, publish and document case studies, shoot videos or present personal projects. Show that you know what you are doing.

2. Do a good job

Give your best 100% on every project. If you manage to satisfy all of the client needs, be on time, a maybe do something extraordinary, other will for sure hear about it.

3. Do only the work that you want to do in the future

Doing work that can not contribute to your future, cause demotivation. Sometimes is better to pass on a project, rather than not giving 100% on it.

4. Don't chase customers

You shouldn't be weak if, for example, a customer doesn't think an offer is right or wants to improve it in his or her favor. Your work has certain processes and these have their price. Even if you have few projects at the moment, that shouldn't be the reason to simply accept all project inquiries.

5. Attract customers instead

If you decline a project, use the time to focus on how to attract new customers. Plan new marketing campaigns, write blogs, or do an imaginary project that you can show off in your portoflio.

6. Don't try to reach everyone

Your work should specialize in one subject. For me as a web engineer, it makes no sense to have additional customers in the print sector.

7. Use all social media platforms equally

Social networking is a powerful and great way to showcase your work. Many try to appear differently on each platform. But there is nothing wrong with uploading the same project to different networks. New customers might look at one or two of your social profiles. It would be a shame if they missed out on one strong project.

8. Refresh your portfolio

The classic. I'm not very good at that either. Although you have already progressed in many projects, you somehow do not get around to including new case studies in the portfolio. But this is extremely important to reflect your current status and your skills.
